Jasper Fforde Web Site www.thursdaynext.com |
A series of amazing web sites that support the first
two books, and a lot more besides If you are suffering from withdrawal
symptoms, then I cannot recommend too highly Jasper Fforde's web sites.
There are a number of major sections :
* A Writing section About things Ffordian - all the latest news and a lot more. For instance, if you read The Eyre Affair when it first came out, the chances are that you read version 1.0. Since then, the book has been upgraded. With the most recent version being 1.4. Within this site are instructions to enable you to upgrade your copy, and significantly to print off a logo confirming that the book has been upgraded. * Thursday Next site Written by Millon De Floss it gives up to date information about Swindon's premier biblio-crimefighter including a photograph. * Buy the book section * Spec Ops Section The site description says "Report weird shit, denounce your neighbours, friends and even yourself to the authorities and be a good citizen." I did try to join Spec Ops 27. Sadly I only achieved a 70% pass mark and it was suggested I join the pasta police! * Pickwick's Cavalcade of Fun. Go here for Nextian-related games and join Pickwick for good old-fashioned time-wasting amusement. Pickwick by the way is the name of Thursday's Dodo. * Goliath site All the latest news relating to the planet's favourite multinational corporation * Forum For your opinions and ideas relating to all things Nextian. * Competition Win a "Watch out for the Dodo" road sign. * Pete & Daves' Dodo Emporium Go here to see what Swindon's finest dealer in re-engineered species has to offer. * Photograph Album Views from Nextian Swindon, Lola Vavoom and Mammoth migrations. * Mammoth Migration page Keep tabs on your favourite herd of plodding elephantines. And last, but not least ... * The Toast Marketing Board site An excellent set of tongue in cheek sites. Well worth a browse if you enjoy Jasper Fforde's humour. These books are a completely new genre, and this site enhances the genre. |
