Mary Henderson Cameron's First Photograph Album

Confidence in Identification ( 90%) &  Reason(s) for identification / doubts

When dating this one, need to consider 1-26 which was taken by the same photographers. 1-26 needs to be as late as possible, because Elizabeth is looking relatively old - certainly no younger than 13. This photo is taken earlier, because the trade plate on the back is a simpler design. The subject is a young man sporting a beard. He is unlikely to be under 18 which discounts Sandy (born 1855). Therefore it must be John. Compare with 1-27 where John has no beard. Definitely a possible identity.
